How long will my project take to complete?

Your web project has to be carefully planned, designed, built, optimised and tested before being launched on the internet. How long a website takes to build is dependent on the size of the project and the time taken for you to send the relevant content / information required for us to work with.

How much does it cost?

Each project is different; the cost is based on a number of considerations including:

  • the number of work hours involved
  • features required on the website
  • whether or not the client is able to provide content or whether a copywriting service required
  • is the client able to provide their own images or do they require access to stock photography
  • does the client require a new logo
  • does the client require a domain name
  • does the client have their own web hosting package

We provide detailed quotes of work involved and technologies used. We will endeavour to meet any deadlines whether it's for a brochure style website, an e-commerce website, a Content Management System (CMS) or a fully bespoke software solution.

On completing some brief details about your requirements, we are able to give you a free consultation and offer friendly, jargon-free advice. Get a free website quote today!

Do I need a domain name? / What is a domain name?

A domain name is the address of your website. Ours is http://www.introspective.co.uk You can have several domain names that point to a single location; the webserver where your website and associated files are stored.

We are able to provide a Domain Name registration service if you prefer not to register it yourself. You can check to see if your desired domain name is available by using our Domain Name Checker.

What is Search Engine Optimisation?

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the process of increasing your websites’ visibility in search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. There are many factors that affect the way your website is read by 'crawlers' which visit your website and relay information back to the search engine.

A 'crawler' is a robot or a piece of software sent out by the search engine to browse websites and follow links gathering information as it goes along. All this information is relayed back to the search engine in order for your website to be 'indexed'.

Where your website is 'indexed' or appears in Google when people type in relevant keywords and key phrases is dependent on the content of the website, the quality of backlinks, keyword density, the coding behind the website, the age of the domain name, keywords included in the domain name amongst many other factors. Can I view how many visits I'm getting to my website?

We are able to provide clients with detailed reports relating to website visits. You will be able to view how many visits you are getting per day, week, month. How long the visitors are staying on your website, which pages they are viewing and for how long, where they are finding your website, where they are being referred from, where the visitors are located and more. These are available upon request for a small fee. Find out more

Once I've paid for my website what are the on-going costs to keep it on the internet?

There are no hidden fees or extra costs. You will only pay for your domain name and you're hosting unless we have mutually arranged other monthly services. On-going advice and support is complimentary and we believe that our initial contact is only the beginning of a successful business relationship.

Once my project is completed who owns my website?

You will own full rights to your website and we will provide you with your website files upon request. You can choose to host the website with Introspective or make your own alternative hosting arrangements, however your collateral will always be in safe hands with Introspective.

Do I have to provide the content or literature along with photographs and pictures for my website?

We offer copywriting services, however clients must realise that we may not fully understand their company’s background. Communication is paramount and we must fully appreciate what it is you do, how your business operates and what you are trying to achieve. We will do the necessary research when it comes to your competition but you should be able to provide us with any information we require in order to get maximum potential from your project.

Do we have to have an initial meeting?

This is completely at the clients’ discretion. We personally love to meet all our clients as this gives us the opportunity to get a better understanding of what it is you do and what your vision is moving forward. We are genuinely interested in our clients’ business as the more we learn about your organisation, the more effective our efforts are when working on your project.

What if I don't like the design, can I choose from more than one??

Usually the client has an idea of what he or she would like their website to look like. It's always a good idea to browse around and look at sites you like the style of and how they are set out, we would then have a rough idea of the styles that suit your taste. Obviously everyone's ideas are different but our talented team of graphic designers more often than not are able to agree a layout with the client from the initial couple of drafts. Unlimited design revisions are available however and the website will only be constructed in code once you are absolutely satisfied with the look and feel of it all.

How much does it cost to have my website updated?

We charge an hourly rate for website updates, contact us for more details. When initially choosing a type of website one consideration is to take into account how often you would like to update your website. A Content Management System (CMS) gives you the ability to update your own website; this may be a more cost effective solution in the longer term. If you are updating your website infrequently however, a static Brochure Style Website may be a more suitable option as Content Management Systems cost more to build initially.

Can I update the website myself, if so is it easy to do?

Yes, with a Content Management System (CMS) you will be able to login with a username and password and edit information as you wish. You also have the ability to upload and replace images on the website whenever required.

This is a very straightforward and simple editor that comes built-in to the website - free advice and training is given to ensure clients are confident updating their website.

What is HTML and CSS?

HTML and CSS are types of programming languages. Valid HTML and CSS means that the website has been coded in accordance with W3C Web Standards. This is pivotal if your website is to receive good rankings in the search engines as any errors will be read by the Google bots / crawlers and relayed back to the search engines.

Will my website appear the same on different computers / browsers?

We take cross browser issues into account when building your website. However there may be small inconsistencies on different screens as people use different versions of internet browsers. We optimise our websites to eliminate these inconsistencies wherever possible.

Do you do Flash animation?

We tend not to. Our websites are designed to be as content rich as possible for the benefit of the search engines. Text and information from flash animations cannot be read by the search engines so we only use flash where absolutely necessary.
