Module 5 - Intermediate/Advanced Level
Aim:
To learn how to generate meaningful reports based on queries and then modify the standard report design to change the overall appearance, flow of data, sort order and how access groups and totals data.
Duration:
Half a day (9:30 am to 12:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm).
Who Should Attend:
Those who are familiar with creating queries that will extract data from multiple tables including calculations, but now need to reproduce the information in various report formats.
Course Content:
● Report Wizard - Quick review of building reports using the integral wizard. Work through the process of producing both sequential listings and grouped data on reports.
● Design View - Identify the different sections of the report design. Also learn the tools required for modifying the appearance of data and the overall format.
● Previews - Examine the differences in the report preview options.
● Controls - Learn how to manipulate individual objects on the report design layout.
● Data Source - Look at ways of exchanging the source of data for a report without having to recreate it from scratch.
● Parameters - Use Parameter queries to launch reports.
● Dialog Box - Create and Use a dialog box to launch a report and compare with parameter queries.
